If your child is aged 8-13, there will be something to captivate their imagination and support their development at our holiday clubs.
Even when school is out our children never stop learning and there’s no better environment to support your child’s growth than a natural one.
Outdoor learning is being increasingly recognised as playing an integral role in holistic child development. With benefits including improved language and communication skills, increased self esteem and confidence, more motivation and greater concentration to name a few. All that besides, it’s good clean, or rather not so clean, fun and has something incredible to offer every child.
As with all our activities for youngsters, holiday clubs follow the Forest School ethos of facilitating child-led learning and discovery in the outdoors. Everything we offer builds on the innate curiosity and sense of wonder that the natural environment brings out in children of all ages.
No two days are ever the same at holiday clubs. We take our lead from the interests of the children and the conditions on the day, exploring adventures like bushcraft, environmental art, woodland crafts and games, campfire cooking, journeying through the woods and of course, free play.
We enjoy taking the opportunity to pass on a range of hard skills to those eager and interested, including using tools and managing risk effectively, bushcraft and survival knowledge. Supporting the development of softer skills like cooperation, empathy, emotional intelligence and leadership are elegantly weaved throughout the sessions by our experienced leaders.
With our well-kitted-out-for-any-eventuality established camps, complete with large group shelters and fire pits, these days offer an exciting opportunity to play, learn and make new friends, whatever the weather!

“Hidden Woods holiday club is a fantastic opportunity for older children to play, create and learn in a wonderful setting. The children are very well looked after by the Hidden Woods team, who oversee activities such as fire making and wood crafts, providing a balance of guidance and independence that enables children to interact and make new friends. Our son loved his time at holiday clubs, in particular the opportunity to spend time with Barney and listen to his infinite woodland wisdom and of course, his repertoire of songs including wicker-bamboo and Aiken Drum! Highly recommended.”
“My 3 grandchildren aged 8 to 10 enjoyed a couple of days at Hidden Woods during the Easter holidays. The had an amazing time describing it as “beautiful “ and “fantastic”. The staff, Barney and Claire, are simply the best. They took great care of the children and managed their individual needs in a proactive manner. The was no tech, nothing complicated, simply the magic of children being able to run around without endless demands on them and to be able to soak up being surrounded by nature. They can’t wait to come back.”
