As a Level 3 Forest School leader, qualified in mountaineering, caving, canoeing, climbing, expedition leadership and bushcraft, with enhanced DBS disclosure and paediatric first aid training, he knows a thing or two about the serious business of having fun outdoors.

In the years before setting up Hidden Woods, Steve was responsible for business development at Go Ape!, helping to create high wire adventure courses in forests across the UK and beyond. In 2002 Steve left his successful career in event management in order to pursue his passion for the great outdoors, with a view to eventually combining the two. Since then he has qualified and worked in a wide range of adventure activities, including mountaineering, expedition leadership and bushcraft.

Having spent his childhood in and around Bath getting muddy, climbing trees and learning about the natural world through play and self-led adventures, Steve is now driven to provide those same opportunities for others.

Steve returned to Bath with his young family in 2011 to develop Hidden Woods and pursue his goal of sharing the rich experience of nature that our stunning woodland camp provides. He is supported by a highly experienced team of outdoor practitioners whose combined skills enable us to deliver exceptional outdoor learning experiences in a truly incredible setting.
